Project member from Jadavpur University on a research visit to Kiel

Doctoral researcher Rajarshi Chowdhury from Jadavpur University, Kolkata/India, has visited the Kiel Institute for a one-month research stay from mid-June to mid-July 2023. Mr. Chowdhury is working on his Ph.D. thesis under the supervision of Professor Saikat Sinha Roy on how Special Economic Zones in India affect manufacturing wage inequality and inequality in consumption expenditure and land ownership among local households. Mr. Chowdhury presented his work at the scientific workshop of the SEZ project “Special Economic Zones: Lessons from Developing Countries”, which took place at the Kiel Institute on 14 and 15 June 2023.
