Dissemination of research findings on African SEZs

Project member Cecília Hornok from IfW Kiel recently participated in two policy events where she presented the results of her ongoing work on SEZs in Africa and their impact on the living standards of local households. The conference “Shaping Africa’s Future: Geopolitics. Business. Sustainability” took place on 19 September 2023 in Berlin, Germany, where representatives from politics, business and academia from Africa and Europe came together to discuss Africa’s economic future. The second event was the LKDF Forum 2023 and an accompanying research workshop, which took place on 13-14 November 2023 in Vienna, Austria, hosted by UNIDO. The event was centered around the topic of sustainable industrialization and brought together key stakeholders from the private sector, international organizations and academia.
