Public lecture on SEZs and India’s Industrialization received great attention

Project member Prof. Aradhna Aggarwal delivered a public presentation at a conference session on Special Economic Zones and India’s Industrialization. The online session was hosted by the Institute of Studies in Industrial Development (ISID), an institution of the Indian Council of Social Science Research, and was part of the 5th India Land and Development Conference in New Delhi on 24th November 2021. In her talk, Prof. Aggarwal presented a comprehensive picture of SEZ policies in developing countries, with special emphasis on the case of India. She highlighted some of the successes of India's SEZs, but also discussed the possible reasons why India has not been able to realize the full potential of this industrial policy tool. The session, which can be viewed online, attracted considerable attention.
